Preschool Learners

We work with preschoolers to create a solid foundation for literacy and mathematics. We support students as they attain early literacy and numeracy skills, by meeting them at their developmental readiness level, building skills over time.

Young students learn counting, letter names and sounds, correct pencil grip, letter formation, and fine motor skills such as cutting and tracing. Preschoolers also develop the phonological awareness skills pre-requisite for reading such as identification of initial and ending sounds, rhyming, segmenting words into their sounds, then blending the sounds into words.

A wealth of research demonstrates the value of early intervention in producing the best outcomes for students with learning differences or developmental disabilities or delays. It is important to develop good habits early on, as inefficient habits are often difficult to change in older students. Creating a robust academic foundation sets students up for success as lifelong learners.

We offer:

  • kindergarten readiness skills

  • early literacy instruction

  • early math instruction

  • interest-based projects to strengthen fine motor & executive functioning skills
