Meet Leslie

Hi! I’m Leslie and I am a kindergarten teacher at Duke School in Durham with 17 years of classroom teaching experience. Previously, I taught English in a French engineering school and French to students (ranging in ages from 2-72!) in various educational settings.

I received my M.Ed. in Early Childhood Intervention and Family Support from UNC-Chapel Hill and my M.A. in French Language and Literature from University of Oklahoma. I am trained in HillRap, HillWrite (now called 95Rap), and Wilson Fundations Literacy programs.

I have worked with students with a range of needs and abilities in the classroom and as a personal tutor. I work to provide the supports each student needs to be able to do their best work. I am passionate about teaching, especially languages, and find it especially gratifying working with students one-on-one and in small groups.

Developing trusting relationships with students and families is key to student success. As a parent, I understand how challenging it can be to support your child at home and help them with their educational needs. I hope to be a source of support for you and your child.
