Meet Maddie

Hi there! I’m Maddie! My approach to working with students comes from a deeply rooted belief that with the right supports and instruction, everyone can learn. If a student isn’t growing with my current method of instruction, then it is my job to figure out how they can grow and use that method instead. 

I have worked with kids and youth in many capacities from a behavior coach in intensive in-home environments, a first grade teacher in a bilingual school in Honduras, to being an exceptional children’s teacher working with students K-5th grade. 

Currently I work at the district level both supporting special education teachers in compliance, ensuring student growth, and coaching. I also work with identified school staff and students preschool-12th grade in problem-solving, direct skill instructions, and intervention selection, when it comes to behavior struggles and executive functioning needs. 

Along with these skills I have also worked with students utilizing different curriculums to support the growth of reading skills from alphabetic knowledge, phonemic awareness, to reading comprehension. Some of the programs I have experience with are Fundations, Reading Mastery, Reading Milestones, SPIRE, Sounds Sensible, and Recipe for Reading.
